Hillsborough Jr Raiders Tackle Football is segmented into 3 divisions based on grade, age and experience.   These divisions are the Patriot Pee Wee (grades 3-4), Patriot JV (grades 5-6) and Patriot Varsity (grades 7-8).  Teams are selected based on position requirements and player skill levels.  Every effort is made to ensure balance among all teams at each level.  There are no tryouts - everyone plays. Teams are kept small allowing for greater child participation and a higher level of learning. Teams will be between 15 to 22 players. Games are comprised of eighty minutes of football. Players must start on one side of the ball, offense or defense.  So everyone plays at least half the game.

Beginning with the 2013 season our Varsity and JV teams became part of the Patriots Division.  The 2014 season brought our PeeWee teams to the Patriot Division as well.  This League consists of teams from the Somerset and Hunterdon areas.  More information on the Patriot division can be found on the Jr Skyland Football Conference website.  The Patriot division philosophy is consistent with the philosophy Jr Raiders has maintained over the years.  We understand that it is on-the-field, game-day experience that really helps to develop players and is one of the primary reasons why players want to play football.    We provide the most on-the-field play-time opportunities in the Hillsborough area.  We have no restrictions nor do we discriminate when it comes to playing-time eligibility.  Whether it's your first year with us or you've been part of Jr Raiders for years, everyone is treated equally and fairly and earns their play-time through hard work, dedication and a desire to learn.

Practice begins mid August and games begin in September.   August practices are at Amsterdam Elementary School.  During the school year, practices for all 3 divisions are at the Auten Rd Football Practice fields. Schedules will be posted on the website.
